Hello, World!

I’m through the intro videos. Most were some background, information about the class, where to go for help, etc, but we did make a Hello, World! app.

Some things I learned of note (which I may not fully understand yet):

  • When you drag something from Interface Builder into your code, the link is made in a couple places. If you change the variable name in your code, it will be left hanging out in Interface Builder and throw an error. This orphan needs to be removed.
  • Like most Apple application, the properties pane is your friend. Most configuration of the UI happens in there.
  • Xcode is case sensitive and likes lowercase file extensions.
